Arthur Peng
Arthur is a high school student. Since 2024 he has interned at three AI companies in Africa and the Middle East, hosted twelve NVIDIA classes with GoMyCode, and made a free course of 250 video lessons.

Arthur finished Kumon Math Level J in 2019 and placed at the Burnett Middle School Spring Invitational. In 2025 he and his team won awards in Doha.

Since March 2025 Arthur has hosted twelve NVIDIA classes with GoMyCode, watched more than 50,000 times. He also made a free course of 250 short video lessons with quizzes, starting at school algebra and ending with AI agents.

Two summers in African AI
In 2024 and 2025 Arthur interned at Amini and Cassava Technologies, two companies building AI and its infrastructure in Africa.

Amini is a Nairobi company founded by Kate Kallot, who previously led global AI strategy at NVIDIA and Arm. It builds environmental data for Africa and the Global South, where farmers have long depended on satellite forecasts that say little about their own fields.
What Amini builds
- Earth data: satellite imagery and weather data turned into simple insights about what a farmer's soil needs.
- Amini Soma: AI that digitises decades of handwritten paper archives across dozens of local languages.
- Amini Ulap: unused radio spectrum turned into private local 4G and 5G networks for remote areas.
- Amini Pods: small, energy-efficient data centres that keep data in the country it comes from.
Recognition and impact
- Kate Kallot received the TIME100 Impact Award. Amini won the Kofi Annan Award and is backed by Salesforce Ventures and Pale Blue Dot.
- Its data reaches more than 500,000 smallholder farmers by text message and has lowered crop-insurance premiums by over 30%.
- It has helped train more than 15,000 local data scientists and engineers.
Arthur's work
Arthur worked on Amini's climate foundation model as a data science intern, on preprocessing, training and evaluation with open Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. Lenders and insurers use the model to assess farmers who have no credit history, so its accuracy affects who gets a loan.
The main problem was uneven coverage. Because of clouds and satellite revisit times, some places had many usable images and others had very few. He masked out the clouds in each scene and took the median over a fixed time window, so every location got a consistent input. His code was reviewed and merged, and it now runs in production for more than 10,000 farmers.

Cassava Technologies was founded by Strive Masiyiwa to build Africa's digital infrastructure: fibre networks, data centres and, more recently, computing for AI.

- Africa Data Centers, keeping more data and computing on the continent.
- AI factories and sovereign AI capabilities, built with NVIDIA, Microsoft and Google.
- AI access for African languages, and high-speed internet for schools.
Arthur's internship
Arthur built AI agents that took over parts of Cassava's customer-support work. It was his first time seeing AI used inside a large company, and it showed him how much depends on what surrounds the model: the network, the computing, the data and the people who run it.

GoMyCode trains more than 50,000 learners across Africa and the Middle East. Since March 2025 Arthur has hosted its live NVIDIA classes on accelerated data science, generative AI and agentic AI.

Callab AIJune 2026
Callab is a Tunisian startup founded by Haithem Kchaou and Chehir Dhaouadi. Many of its customers still use phone systems from Cisco, Avaya and Mitel that are decades old, so Callab builds AI that works with those systems instead of replacing them.

What Arthur built
Agents that answer customer-support calls. They work out what the caller wants, look up information, reply and finish the task. He found this very different from building a chatbot: an agent has to decide when to act, when to ask a follow-up question, when to use a tool and when to pass the call to a person.
Building for the region
Callab's product is shaped by conditions in Tunisia and the rest of the region: old telecom infrastructure, telecom regulation and local Arabic dialects.
